Does the quote cost anything?
No. The site visit and the quote are free and carry no obligation. There is only a cost if you ask us for architectural or engineering drawings, and in that case we tell you the price beforehand.
How long until I get the quote?
Normally between three and five working days after the visit. On bigger jobs, or when we have to get prices for specific materials, it can stretch to a week — we always let you know.
What is in the quote?
The work broken down by section, with quantities and prices, what is included in terms of materials, the programme with a start and a handover date, the payment terms and the guarantee that applies.
How do payments work?
In stages, as the work progresses. There is an amount on award and the rest is tied to specific stages of the job, set out in the quote. We do not ask for the whole amount up front.
Do you deal with council permits?
We do. At the visit we tell you whether the work is exempt, whether it needs prior notification or a full permit, and we take the process forward.
Do you do 3D visuals?
We do, on jobs where there are decisions to take about materials and layout. It lets you see the result before the first tile comes off — changing your mind in 3D costs nothing.
Can I supply the materials myself?
You can. In that case the quote covers labour only and it is clear what falls to you. The guarantee on materials you supply is the supplier’s, not ours.
Do you work with architects?
We do, often. We are happy to build someone else’s design and we talk directly to the practice while the work is under way.
Do you take on small jobs?
We do, as long as they fit our area and our programme. A bathroom, a repaint, a suspended ceiling — tell us what you need and we will tell you frankly whether we are the right company for it.
What if the work runs late?
We tell you as soon as we know, and we tell you why. Delays happen — a material that does not arrive, a surprise inside a wall — but the client should never be the one to discover them.
Do you clean up at the end?
We do. The final clean is included in every turnkey job and we hand the place over ready to use, not ready to clean.
Do you work as a subcontractor for other companies?
We do. Ask for the price list by e-mail at geral@superficiegenuina.com, telling us which trades you are interested in and the area the work is in.
